Child and Adolescent Program
A clear plan for your child, and a clear view of the work
One of the things we have learned in working with children and families is that therapy tends to falter in the gap between the session and the home. A child makes real progress in the room, and then the week resets it, because the people who love them most were never told what to reinforce. Parents are left guessing, and progress slows for reasons that have nothing to do with the child.
We built this program so the progress made in session holds. Every child begins with a structured plan built around their individual needs and goals. From there, we stay in steady communication with you so that the progress translates to home and school.
We believe that every child deserves to be heard, cared for, and understood, and that families are the ultimate experts in their own child. You hold insight into your child’s strengths and struggles that no evaluation can fully capture on its own, and that insight shapes how we work with you from the first conversation forward.

Who We Work With
We work with children and adolescents facing OCD, anxiety, ADHD, and difficulties with emotion regulation, along with the challenges that often come with them at home and at school. If you have noticed your child struggling and are not sure what is underneath it or where to turn, this is a good place to start.
Our Approach
We begin by understanding your child fully, looking at what underlies the difficulty so that the goals we set together are the right ones. From there, your child follows a structured, individually tailored plan grounded in evidence-based treatment for anxiety, OCD, ADHD, and emotion regulation. Throughout, we work collaboratively with you, communicating regularly about your child’s progress and the ways you can support it at home, because children make the most progress when the people closest to them are part of the work.
Meet Dr. Abby Salat
Our Child and Adolescent Program is led by Dr. Abby Salat, who spent more than ten years as a school psychologist in Chicago’s northern suburbs. In that time she worked with a wide range of students, including those with ADHD, autism, learning disabilities, emotional disabilities, low-incidence needs, and multilingual learners, and she served as her district’s lead bilingual (Spanish) school psychologist. That experience means she understands, firsthand, how schools evaluate, what support is available, and how to help a family get it.

Our Services
Individual Therapy
Treatment for OCD, anxiety, ADHD, and emotion regulation, shaped around your child and the goals we set alongside you.
Parent Coaching
You are part of the work, not a bystander to it. We give you the tools and the throughline so that the progress your child makes in session carries into your home and daily life. For some families this includes SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions), an evidence-based approach for childhood anxiety and OCD that works by supporting parents to respond differently, easing their child’s distress without requiring the child to lead the change.
Psychoeducational Evaluations
An evaluation is much more than a set of tests. It is an onramp to understanding and supporting your child, both educationally and therapeutically. By partnering closely with your family to look at the whole picture, we uncover the reasons behind your child’s challenges and bring their strengths into focus, helping you and their educators understand what they need. Drawing on years of experience inside the school system, we provide dedicated advocacy that translates between schools and families. When it is needed, we walk parents through IEP and 504 Plan development so that their child receives the services that will help them thrive.
School Advocacy
We know how schools work, because we have worked inside them. We collaborate with school-based teams, interpret outside evaluations, and help your family navigate IEP and 504 eligibility so that your child gets the right support without a long wait for it.
College Consulting
Guidance through the college search and the transition that follows, with real attention to the supports your child will need to succeed once high school is behind them.
Parent Resources & Webinars
Practical, grounded education to help you understand what is affecting your child and to feel more confident in how you support them through it.
